The Real Housewives franchise is as popular as ever. There are presently 9 shows based in the US all with viewing figures into the millions. Most housewives have over 100,000 Instagram followers so what they say and do has a big impact on people’s actions and desires.

For those of you who don’t know the franchise – it’s a reality TV show that follows the lives of a small group of rich, confidant, opinionated women who all live in the same city – think Atlanta, Beverly Hills and New York. They go on fabulous holidays, throw expensive parties and get into lots and lots of arguments. It’s compulsive viewing for many.

One thing all the ladies have in common is their honesty about cosmetic work. Looking good is important to them and cosmetic work – both surgical and non-surgical –  is part of their beauty maintenance program. They aren’t ashamed of stating that their breasts are enhanced or they have botox and fillers regularly. That’s just part of who they are. So which of the Real Housewives have had what done?

Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation is consistently in the top 5 surgical procedures performed each year and many of the Real Housewives are among the numbers. It may be quicker to list those of them who haven’t had a boob job but some of the most vocal about it are:

Tamra Judge from Real Housewives of Orange County has had more breast lift and implant ops than most – five in total! She has had them lifted, enhanced, reduced, removed and then enhanced again. For her it is about how they make her feel, not pressure from her husband or the show.

Melissa Gorga from Real Housewives of New Jersey is open about her breast operation. When she had her implants replaced after 13 years she was more than happy to tell her Instagram followers all about it.

Brandi Redmond from Real Housewives of Dallas recently had a mommy makeover which includes a breast lift or implants. It’s a popular procedure many women have after having children since boobs can sag and deflate after pregnancy and breastfeeding boobs. Having breast augmentation can help women feel confidant about their bodies again.

Non-Surgical Innovations

Nose jobs

Another of the Top 5 most common surgical procedures is the nose job. The nose is a prominent part of your face and having one you consider too big, too crooked or lumpy can impact your confidence levels. But who of the housewives has openly told of their nose woes.

Erika Jayne from Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is a woman full of confidence and is happy to tell things straight up and honestly. She had a nose job at 41 and is open about using Botox and fillers. She disclosed on The Wendy Williams Show that she can spend around $40,000 a month on hair, make-up, clothes and beauty procedures. That is a serious commitment to beauty.

NeNe Leakes from Real Housewives of Atlanta is open about many things including her nose work. She has had two surgeries, the first to make her nose more beautiful and the second to fix the cartilage that was growing within.

Porsha Williams also from Real Housewives of Atlanta is not a stranger to having work done. As well as a boob job, she also recently had a non-surgical nose job using fillers to fix the shape of her nose. And she posted  short clip of the procedure on Instagram for her followers to enjoy.

Lip Augmentation:

The rise of selfies and the popularity of the pout has helped make lip augmentations a go to beauty procedure. Reality stars like the Housewives use social media so extensively that many of them head to their cosmetic surgeon for plump, luscious lips.

Lisa Rinna of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is perhaps the most well known housewife to have her lips done. Yet, her lips were created 20 something years ago, and she made the big mistake of having silicone injected into them. It made the plumpness permanent but she has had lots of problems with scar tissue and needs maintenance cortisone injections to help. Even so, she has no regrets.

Teresa Giudice of Real Housewives of New Jersey has admitted to a little filler in her lips and a little Botox to help with wrinkles.

Lisa Vanderpump of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is a little shy about her  face and what work she may have had done. She denies any surgical work but has admitted to a lip augmentation in the past.

Botox Treatment

Botox and Fillers:

Botox and facial fillers are probably the one thing that most of the Housewives have admitted to having regularly to help with wrinkles and aging. And the Real Housewives are not alone. In 2018, over 7 million people in the US had Botox and nearly 3 million people had Soft Tissue Fillers – like Juvederm.

Kyle Richards of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills has gorgeous skin and she credits plasma-rich facials and occasional Botox and filler injections.

Sonja Morgan of Real Housewives of New York spends a lot of time and energy on keeping her face fresh and young looking. She admits to Botox and occasion fillers to help with this.

Kelly Dodd of Real Housewives of Orange County may be having a lot more work done, courtesy of her new plastic surgeon boyfriend. In the past, she has had lip fillers and has Botox to keep her face looking young.

It's Not Just For Housewives.

As mentioned earlier millions of women in the US are having cosmetic surgery and injections to help improve their looks and confidence. And there is nothing wrong with that. It is a personal choice based on how you feel about your body and face and what you would like to do to change them. Cosmetic procedures are now more affordable, just make sure you go to a licensed, experienced practitioner and don’t be afraid to ask questions.
