Reverse Aging With Sciton BBL Treatment
Our faces are the first thing people see when they meet us. If you have a few freckles it can be seen as cute, but hyperpigmentation is much more than freckles and it can leave people feeling very self-conscious about their skin, affecting their confidence each time they look in the mirror.
Enter BroadBand Light Therapy. This exciting therapy utilizes gentle yet powerful light-energy technology to enhance the appearance and texture of the skin. It helps numerous skin conditions because it improves skin at the basal cell layer.
When your skin glows, you look rejuvenated and feel so much better!
Introducing Broadband Light Therapy Or BBL
BBL is a rejuvenating treatment for skin that looks patchy or uneven. It can also be used for fine wrinkles, red spots and visible vessels in the skin. It is a quick, non-invasive procedure that gives long-lasting results. As well as improving the appearance of the skin immediately, it also enhances skin health.
Recent research from the Stanford University School of Medicine shows that BBL can cause both short-term and long-term skin improvement. Not only that, but the research shows that the treatment causes changes in the actual DNA of the skin cells – it makes them behave like younger cells.
Our DNA is a record of instructions telling each cell what kind of cell it is going to be and how it should function. As we age over time, our DNA becomes damaged and makes the cell perform less effectively and act as an “older” cell.
So to have a treatment that can help cells behave as younger cells again is quite amazing! That’s why the BBL results are so impressive.
So How Does BBL Work?
As you probably know, our skin is made up of several layers. The top layer of our skin is known as the epidermis and is generated by its deepest cell layer, known as the basal cell.
The health of the basal cell determines the health of the cells above it – rather like the foundations of a house. If the foundations are strong and healthy, all of the cells above it will be too.
Similarly, if the basal cell is unhealthy, all of the cells above it will be unhealthy. Sun exposure can affect the DNA of this basal cell and damage it, therefore impacting the epidermis. Once it affects the epidermis, we really start to notice the damage.
BBL stimulates the skin cells back to a younger state by rejuvenating the actual genes and genetic codes in the cells. The treatment itself is simply applying therapeutic-grade light energy to the skin. This energy gently warms the top layer of skin and ignites collagen production, stimulating the deeper layers of the skin.
Because it affects healing and rejuvenation at a cellular level, men and women with an array of skin issues can benefit from BBL. As well as hyperpigmentation, it helps with rosacea, broken blood vessels, sun damage, and unwanted freckles.
It’s an exciting breakthrough because the research shows that the treatment not only improves the appearance, but also the health of the skin itself – literally reversing years of damage.
FAQs About BBL By Sciton
You will be supported by one of our registered nurses. He or she will create your treatment plan with you, and then programme the BBL system accordingly.
In a private room, your eyes will be protected from the laser with a special goggle-like cover. The nurse will guide the laser over your skin while focusing on the treatment locations.
The treatment is usually completed in less than an hour. It will vary depending upon the size of the area being treated, and whether you want to combine it with any other procedures. Your nurse can give you an estimated time when you discuss your treatment plan.
There is zero down-time with the BBL procedure. After the session, a soothing lotion can be smoothed onto your skin if you experience any irritation. Then you’re ready to go.
Your nurse will give you post-treatment care directions – such as reducing your exposure to the sun.
You will usually notice some improvement straight away, then more improved skin in 2 – 6 weeks as the skin cells turnover.
Best results will generally be observed after repeated BBL sessions, according to your personalized treatment plan.
A great candidate for BBL is any woman or man dealing with hyperpigmentation or heavily textured skin. These conditions may be caused by damaged capillaries, rosacea, sun damage, or acne.
Prior to undergoing treatment, one of our registered nurses will discuss how BBL technology can help you reach your skin goals.
