Gynecomastia
Gynecomastia is the abnormal enlargment of the male breast.
The cause of Gynecomastia is often not directly identified but some potential causes include:
– normal genetics
– drugs such as marijuana or
– some blood pressure
– medications
– weight gain
– estrogen
– steroids
The treatment of Gynecomastia includes:
liposuction if there is not a lot of excess skin
liposuction plus excision of breast tissue from around the nipple areola
Excisional breast reduction with either a T ( lollipop ) or anchor pattern ( see breast reduction )
Most patients can be treated by simple liposuction or liposuction plus a small excision of breast tissue.
Patients are of all ages ranging from 18 to 50+
